Parylene is a kind of vapor deposition polymer material introduced by Union Carbide Co. in the 1960s. It is prepared by a unique vacuum vapor deposition process and can be applied to various shapes of surfaces. It is known as the world’s top special protective coating against moisture, mildew, corrosion and salt spray. Parylene can be divided into n-type, C-type, D-type, F-type and HT type.
With the continuous development of information industry, magnetic components tend to be miniaturized. Traditional protection methods such as electroplating or epoxy electrophoretic paint have been unable to achieve reliable protection. When the small soft magnetic core is used as winding device, the wear center is easy to make the magnetic winding wire lose its insulation. Perrin can not only overcome this defect, but also form a friction resistant inner surface, which can accelerate the elongation and winding process. Why neodymium iron boron magnetic materials should be coated with perrelin?
Nd-Fe-B magnetic material is a kind of high-performance and strong magnetic material, but it is very unstable in the air. Electroplating or epoxy electrophoretic paint is usually used as protective coating for larger size magnetic material, but it is difficult to meet the use requirements for smaller size magnetic material, especially ring-shaped and cylinder-shaped magnetic material.
The ultrathin and transparent coating of parylene provides excellent dielectric properties for magnets and ferrite cores. Compared with the industrial standard coating, it has lower dielectric constant and loss factor, but higher dielectric strength. Bonded NdFeB components are very fragile. Another advantage of parylene coating is its high strength. All kinds of metal, magnetic, Nd-Fe-B materials are susceptible to atmospheric humidity corrosion, while parylene has very low water permeability, which can protect materials from corrosion.
Parylene’s unique preparation process and excellent performance combine to make it able to carry out all-round coating of small and ultra small magnetic materials without weak points. The magnetic materials can be immersed in hydrochloric acid for more than 10 days without corrosion, and play a very good role in rust prevention and salt spray corrosion resistance. At present, parylene is almost used as insulation and protective coating for small and subminiature magnetic materials in the world.
Protective effect of perrelin coating:
- 1. Anti acid and alkali corrosion, can solve the problem of acid or alkaline corrosion.
- 2. Low water, gas permeability, with high barrier effect, can achieve moisture-proof, waterproof, rust and slow down weathering and other functions.
- 3. Resistant to organic solvents (insoluble in general solvents).
- 4. The film is colorless and transparent, which does not affect the original appearance of the product.
- 5. The film has the effect of dust-proof, moisture-proof and waterproof air permeability, which can make the product reach the international IP standard of dust-proof and waterproof.
